Help Me Grow Kern County

A child's mind grows quickly in the early years of life. But how do you know if they are on the right track?

Areas of concern that are found and addressed in the early years can make a big difference as children reach school age. The American Academy of Pediatrics advises that children have at least three developmental screenings by the age of 3.

Help Me Grow Kern County uses the Ages & Stages Questionnaire. This tool provides developmental screenings in a relaxed setting. The screenings are done by parents and focus on strengths as well as concerns in the child's developmental stages and behavioral development. Help Me Grow Kern County links parents to local resources to help address any areas of concern.

The Help Me Grow Kern County model provides screenings based on your child's age, from 2 months until age 6.

Parents can visit HelpMeGrowKern.org to complete a screening online in English or Spanish.

They can also call 211 Kern County to complete a screening by phone.
