Bakersfield-06/01/15 Enrollment in Kern Family Health Care eclipsed 200,000 members at the beginning of April, 2015. Kern Family Health Care attributes the health plan's popularity to its commitment to quality service and the positive experience members' receive from their participating health care providers.

In 2014, the expansion of Medi-Cal enabled Kern Family Health Care to welcome over 54,000 new members who now have access to quality health care. With the influx of members who qualify for benefits under the Affordable Care Act, approximately 1 out of 4 Kern County residents now receive their health plan benefits and health care services through Kern Family Health Care and its network of providers.

With this growth in membership, Doug Hayward CEO stated, "It validates that members prefer their health plan to be from the community where they reside. It makes their experience more personal in knowing their health plan understands the health care needs of residents of Kern County".

Kern Family Health Care is committed to its mission of improving the health of its members with its emphasis on prevention and access to quality health care; along with partnering with community providers in contributing to the overall, elevated health status of all members.
