Physician Advisory Committee (PAC)
Physician Advisory Committee (PAC)
The Physician Advisory Committee (PAC) is an advisory committee to the Kern Health Systems (KHS) Board of Directors. This committee provides input on health care issues, peer review, provider discipline, and credentialing/recredentialing decisions. The PAC meets quarterly and is responsible for reviewing practitioner/provider quality issues, and other peer review matters as directed by the Chief Executive Officer or the KHS Medical Director.
The PAC is charged with the assessment of standards of health care as applied to members and practitioner/providers; assisting with development of indicators for studies; and regular review of guidelines that are promulgated for practitioner/providers and members. This committee is composed of contracted PCP’s and Specialists, the Kern Health Systems Medical Director and Physician Board members.
The PAC reviews and comments upon pertinent KHS standards and guidelines with updates as needed. Further responsibility includes the evaluation of improvements in global practice patterns of KHS practitioner/providers and the development of local care standards. Development of educational programs includes input from the PAC as well.
