Dear Friends,

As President and CEO of Kern Health Systems (KHS), the largest health plan in Kern County, I’m honored to welcome you to our website. Whether you are a Kern Family Health Care member, KHS contracted provider or a community member, I hope you find the information you are looking for during your visit.

Through our Kern Family Health Care product, Kern Health Systems, the Local Initiative for Medi-Cal Managed Care in Kern County, began providing medical care to our members in July 1996. Since that time, our membership has grown to over 100,383 Medi-Cal enrollees. We are also a participating Health Plan for the State sponsored Healthy Families Program in Kern County. We began providing medical care to Healthy Families members in July 1998 and, since that time, our membership has grown to over 11,866 Healthy Families members.

We are proud of the difference we have made in the lives of our members and in our community. Our network of over 500 contracted providers has enabled us to build strong relationships in this community and to increase access to medical care for our vulnerable populations. In addition, KHS has awarded over 6 million dollars in the form of grants to improve the health of our members and our community.

KHS recognizes the importance of the support we have received from our partners in health care and local community based organizations in providing quality health care to our members.
