Provider Relations Manager

Description: Under administrative direction, assists in the management of functions and activities associated with provider relations to ensure an appropriate network of health care providers is available to the members of Kern Health Systems (KHS) health plan. 

This position is responsible for the provider relations function for a Knox-Keene licensed
health maintenance organization (HMO).

Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited school or equivalent; AND two (2) years of managerial experience in provider relations or health care related field. Two (2) years of managerial experience may be substituted for one year of college, e.g. two (2) years of college AND six (6) years of managerial experience will be required.  Health maintenance organization (HMO) provider relations experience is highly desirable.  Knowledge of managed care contracting methods; recruiting and credentialing requirements; medical reimbursement methodologies; supervisory and training techniques.  Ability to adapt to a rapidly evolving work environment; work independently and manage multi-task responsibilities; communicate with a variety of personnel and providers; prepare a variety of comprehensive reports; effectively supervise and train staff.  Required travel up to 40%. Possession of valid California Driver’s License and proof of valid State required auto liability insurance.
