Description: Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Public Affairs, responsible for assessment and development of marketing outreach and public affairs programs, to create awareness of health care services and benefits in order to achieve enrollment objectives. Also responsible for planning, development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of approved marketing outreach and public affairs efforts.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred or 4 years from an accredited college or university in marketing, communications, public relations, business administration, or related field. Upon employment, must successfully complete Marketing Training and Certification program given by Kern Health Systems. Bilingual (Spanish) certification required. Possession of a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation and valid automobile insurance; up to 40% travel required. Two years’ experience in social, community, communication, health care, insurance, or market sales related work experience. Each additional 2 years of similar work may be substituted for one year of college. Must possess strong problem solving capability; excellent written and verbal communication skills; creativity in coordination, managing, and evaluating program effectiveness; sensitivity to multi-cultural community and the ability to communicate with a broad spectrum of individuals, including Medi-Cal beneficiaries, providers, community-based organizations and Kern Health Systems Board of Directors. Ability to work independently to meet organizational goals and objectives; work in a fast paced environment, organize and manage multi-task responsibilities; be a self-starter with a keen understanding of team concepts. Knowledge of Word processing and spreadsheet capabilities.
