UM Non Clinical Intake Coordinator I

Description: Under direction of the KHS Director of Health Services and the Manager of Health Services Non Clinical Support Staff, the Non Clinical Intake Coordinator I will support the Clinical Intake staff in the processing of Health Plan referrals for medical services, durable medical equipment, and specialty care. This position will provide the UM Department with administrative support in the implementation of the authorization process to ensure accuracy of service determinations, limitations of Health Plan coverage, and timeliness in the communication and decision-making process. This position will play a key role as provider and member liaison to the KHS UM process.

Requirements: High School Diploma from an accredited school or equivalent. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the medical field, preferably in a managed care setting, or one (1) year experience in a medical practice or hospital setting. Typing certificate for 45 wpm within one year of issuance. Data entry and computer experience of at least one year.  Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding procedures.  Medical Terminology.  Valid California Driver License and proof of State required auto liability.
