Title: DATA ANALYST

Description: The Data Analyst position is one of the primary interfaces for data reporting and analysis, system data integrity, and report design and delivery for Kern Health Systems (KHS). This position requires knowledge and understanding of database schemas and table definition of an operational data store (ODS) and data warehouse (DW). The incumbent will provide professional skills necessary for all phases of data processing and analysis for research projects, including the application of standard, descriptive, and inferential statistical methods for conducting analysis. The Data Analyst must have a solid working expertise of the structured query language (SQL), and an understanding end user report delivery tools such as a Business Objects.

Requirements: •Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field AND four (4) years progressive experience in report writing or reporting analytics for a medium to large health care organization OR six (6) years of experience as a Business Analysts with KHS or similar organization with an emphasis on business reporting. Education may be substituted with report writing or analytical work experience on a year for year basis, and will be reviewed individually. •Proficiency must be demonstrated with operational knowledge of reporting tools and custom SQL queries. Knowledge/Skills Required: •Expertise creating formulas and calculations in Microsoft Excel. •Knowledge of the techniques used in relational Database Management Systems. •Experienced in creating custom complex structure query language (SQL) statements for analytical data mining. •Expertise with data mining and data analysis techniques in healthcare data, and the ability to identify data problems, develop logical conclusions, and provide effective solutions. •Ability to work with end users to identify reporting requirements. Demonstrate an analytical aptitude to learn and understand business segment processes.
