Title: SENIOR DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR II

Description: Under minimal supervision, the Senior Database Administrator II is responsible for all aspects of database management, integrity, and design for Kern Health Systems (KHS). This includes database schema design; table definition design and creation; initial data loads; database maintenance, tuning, backup and upgrades. The incumbent assists development staff in the creation of automated data load routines, with data integrity checks and reconciliations, and ensures that documentation of database designs; schemas and data flow diagrams are created and maintained. The Senior Database Administrator II must have a solid working knowledge of data warehouse designs, database configuration and maintenance, data extractions, models and schemas have a clear understanding of project management in a technical decision making role as it applies to data storage and warehousing, and other work as required.
Requirements: Education/License: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Education can be substituted with Database Administrator or Data Architecture work experience on a year for year basis. • TDWI CBIP certification preferred. Experience: • Five (5) years of paid Database Administrator or Data Architecture experience in a medium to large environment. Knowledge/Skills Required: • Expertise with other database procedural extensions such as TL/SQL or PL/SQL, and native ETL tools such as SSIS and SQL Loader. • Ability to analyze database requirements, perform logical and physical database design, installation, maintenance, upgrades and tuning. • Design, develop and implement custom software using object oriented programming with Visual Basic or C# in a Microsoft Visual Studio environment. • Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using various methods including: native database tools, third party applications, or KHS developed code.
